So I went into Consumer Reports and I found a couple of articles that I really liked:
Kindle tops our e-reader Ratings.Full Text Available Consumer Reports, Jul2010, Vol. 75 Issue 7, p40-40, 1p, 1 Color Photograph, 1 Chart
Subjects: ELECTRONIC book readers -- Evaluation; AMAZON.COM Inc.; SONY Corp.; BARNES & Noble Inc.; MOBILE computing -- Evaluation
Database: MasterFILE Premier
And one that is more current:
- Electronics: A World of Choices.

- Consumer Reports Buying Guide, 2011, p14-60, 47p (pages 29-31)
So based on what I read and what I've known about e-Readers I would probably end up buying the Kindle or the iPad (if I went all out). Here's why:
-The Kindle app is Mac Friendly (and I'm a mac girl)
-The iPad can by synced with my mac laptop
-Kindle is the least expensive of the e-Readers with the most features: e-Ink, lightweight, easy to use, wi-fi, large library space, Amazon has relatively inexpensive books (and they give away many that are out of date plus their super duper easy one-click buy is pretty addicting) Plus it's Mac Friendly (which is a big deal for me)
- Nook is not Mac Friendly and I'm not super impressed by the Sony e-Readers or features (or store).
-The only reason I would buy the iPad is to have another home computer that I can take anywhere with an e-Reader app. (which is what I am seriously considering)
-The only reason to really buy a Sony e-Reader or Nook (in my opinion) is their library friendly abilities but I don't know that I would really be checking out that many Library e-Books due to the waiting lists (I'm not a super patient person) - and if I did then the iPad would be my way to go since it is library friendly.
SO now the first 3 steps to downloading a book to the iPad:
1. Visit the App Store and search for the Overdrive Media Console
2. Once Downloaded tap on Get Books on the top right hand corner of the App
3. Add a Website mesacountypubliclibraries.org
4. Login to your account and then choose a book once you proceed to check-out (the first time) you'll need to register for Adobe Digital Editions if you don't already have an account.
